About Matthias

Matthias Ruoss is co-leader of two SNF projects on the gendered history of voluntering, based at the University of Fribourg, and is supporting the research unit during the summer semester of 2026 as a Mercator Fellow. His main research and teaching interests include the analysis of capitalism, gender history, social history, and historical anthropology. His latest publications include the book Auf Pump. Ratenkredite im industriellen Kapitalismus 1860-1910 (Wallstein, 2024).
