Talk by Carsta Langner at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg

Carsta Langner, in our second funding phase head of the sub-project “Voluntariness and Solidarity in the GDR in the GDR and the Post-socialist Transition (1970-2000)”, will present aspects of her current work on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Her talk will be part of the Colloquium of Modern and Contemporary History at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Carsta is going to elaborate on initial assumptions about her research perspective on voluntariness and voluntary engagement among migrants in the GDR. Talk and discussion are entitled “Freiwillig in der DDR: Gesellschaftliches Engagement von Migrant:innen im Staatssozialismus” and will take place from 6-8 pm (c.t.) in seminar room 12, Emil-Abderhalden-Str. 26/27, Halle.
