Im Juni 2022 freuen sich J\u00fcrgen und Pia von unserem Teilprojekt<\/a><\/strong> \u201cFreiwilligkeit als politische Praxis: B\u00fcrger-Sein in den entstehenden USA\u201c auf hochkar\u00e4tige US-amerikanische G\u00e4ste, die nicht nur in Erfurt Station machen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am 21. Juni<\/strong> wird Deirdre Cooper Owens<\/strong> (University of Nebraska\u2013Lincoln) einen Vortrag<\/a> zu Freiwilligkeit und \u201cWhy History Matters in Understanding American Medicine: From the Black Birthing Crisis to COVID-19\u201d am Carl-Schurz-Haus in Freiburg<\/strong> halten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am gleichen Tag wird Van Gosse<\/strong> (Franklin & Marshall College) am DAI in Heidelberg<\/strong> zur freiwilligen politischen Partizipation von Free Blacks beim Vortrag<\/a> \u201cThe First Reconstruction: Black Politics in America from the Revolution to the Civil War\u201d sprechen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am 22. Juni<\/strong> h\u00e4lt Deirdre Cooper Owens<\/strong> zudem einen Vortrag<\/a> zu \u201cReshaping Freedom: Harriet Tubman’s Abolitionism and the Path to Citizenship\u201d als Juneteenth Special in Bonn, den Sie auch via Zoom<\/strong> verfolgen k\u00f6nnen, hierzu einfach eine kurze E-Mail an info@amerikahaus-nrw.de<\/a> schicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im Anschluss freuen wir uns am 23. und 24. Juni<\/strong> auf viele Interessierte in Erfurt<\/strong> bei unserem Workshop<\/a> “Dis-Cover Fellow Citizens: Voluntary Civic Engagement in the Early Republic and Antebellum America” mit unseren US-amerikanischen und deutschen Kolleg*innen.
